Technical Support Engineer

We are a leading local provider of outsourced IT, Managed Network, and Managed Security services to small and medium-sized businesses in the greater Washington, D.C. area. We are seeking a candidate to fill the position of Mid-Level Field Technical Support Engineer.

 

We are looking for someone sharp, can communicate effectively verbally and in writing, possess a "Yes I can" attitude, always asks "What else can I do to help," and is eager to learn and do more. We have a great company culture and won't let just anyone join our team. We're trying to be the best, so we need the best.

 

This position is a mix of onsite and remote helpdesk support. The onsite support is done at our client's locations in the greater Washington DC area (travel expenses are reimbursed). In this position, you will be expected to:

  • Support, and troubleshoot servers, firewalls, routers, and switches.
  • Support, and troubleshoot VMware, HyperV, etc.
  • Work with, support, and troubleshoot the latest backup technologies (Datto, StoreageCraft, etc.)
  • Setup wireless networks
  • Setup new computers
  • Fix end-user PC issues
  • Be resourceful, and at times, "Just figure it out."
  • Be exposed to a lot of different technologies.
  • Not be expected to know everything, but know how to find the answer.
  • Document all your work in our documentation and ticketing systems
  • Love to learn

 

Requirements:

  • CUSTOMER FIRST ATTITUDE 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Resourceful when resolving difficult issues and situations both technical and interpersonal
  • Able to communicate effectively both oral and written
  • Thorough knowledge of Windows 7, 8 and 10
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office and Office 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, etc.)
  • Wireless networking
  • Printer configuration in networked and non-networked environments
  • Reliable transportation
  • Able to lift 50 lbs independently

  • Router firewall configuration
  • Unix/Linux
  • Group Policy
  • Managed Services Experience
  • Helpdesk ticketing systems (Connectwise, AutoTask, etc.)
  • Managed Services Software (Labtech/Automate, Kaseya, etc.)
  • Cybersecurity certifications or experience
